Who showed up to see Jane’s Addiction play in Boston expecting the scene that unfolded?
And yet. . . the band subjected concert goers to a crazy scene anyhow. The band’s front man Perry Ferrell lunged at guitarist Dave Navarro while they were performing, and actually took a few swings at him. The audience was horrified, rightly so. After all, who wants to see two band members involved in a physical altercation? What an awful experience!
Some parents engage in conflicted interactions in front of their kids at exchanges, ballgames and band concerts. Not all of these interactions are quite as extreme as what transpired in Boston. No child wants to see parents fight at all. We know that being exposed to conflict damages kids. What an awful experience for them!
In PC, parents learn the skills necessary to ensure their children are not exposed to conflict so they are not damaged.
